Our program is virtual—which means every lesson, question-and-answer session, quiz and assignment happens online. To round out your high school experience, we offer plenty of virtual campus activities, such as field trips, after-school clubs, student organizations, and contests. And our online guest speakers, articles and news will keep you current on the tech industry.
Course Format
At the start of each class, you’ll receive:
- Course Outline - A basic overview of your class projects and activities.
- Class Compass - A list of assignments and due dates, so you can plan ahead.
- Written Student Learning Plan (WSLP) - This state-required learning plan is developed by your instructor and personalized for you. Your WSLP details the class schedule, required materials, activities, learning goals, performance objectives, assessment strategy, academic intervention plan, and parent/guardian involvement.
All our elective classes feature a one-hour, live online session each week. The rest of the time, you’ll work on assignments at your own pace. Of course, you’ll be required to turn in your assignments by their due dates. To help you stay on track, you’ll receive weekly online announcements from your instructor. And throughout the course, you’ll be able to chat online with your classmates, take part in class forums, and contact your instructor during his or her office hours.
Who’s Eligible?
High school students in grades 9–12 (public, private or home school) can enroll in any of our
elective classes for credit as part of the state’s Alternative Learning Experience program. You’ll receive an official transcript for each course you complete.

If you’re a state resident of high school age, there’s no cost to attend Giant Campus of Washington.
